Cognitive Therapy for Insomnia
Sleep - its essential to your health! This group will employ cognitive behavioral therapy, which is a proven non-drug treatment for insomnia, to help you improve the quality and efficiency of your sleep. Learn new way of thinking that will not only improve your quality of sleep but also help you to reduce your level of stress, fall asleep faster, and sleep more soundly.

Disordered Eating: Group I
Develop skills for creating a healthier lifestyle, challenging destructive behaviors and enhancing relationships. This 8- week group is designed to help members understand the relationships among disordered eating and relationships, weight and shape concerns, situational triggers and personal factors. Mindfulness and goal setting strategies are emphasized in our meetings. Screenings begin in fall quarter. Space is limited. This group is led by Gia Marson, Ed.D.

Need help with concentration problems, ADHD and other academic difficulties? Join this 5-session group to (1) Identify strengths and weaknesses related to academic difficulties; (2) understand how to maximize attention, concentration and memory; (3) increase skills to improve academic performance; (4) decrease anxiety and manage stress; and (5) manage personal, social and campus support to improve college success.
This five-session structured psychoeducational group cycles weekly through the end of the academic year.

"Moving Forward" Substance Use Group
This confidential, brief group is for students who would like help examining their current use patterns, setting goals to alter use habits, and taking steps to modify using behaviors. The “Moving Forward” group is open to interested students at any time in the course of the 6-week group rotation, although an initial assessment is required before entry into the group can begin.

Overcoming Social Anxiety
Do you feel uncomfortable in social situations? This therapy group is designed to help students overcome anxiety in a variety social situations including speaking in front of groups/classroom situations, initiating and maintaining conversations, meeting new people, going to parties, and being assertive. This 10-week, structured, skills-focused group will help you learn more about your individual patterns of anxiety and ways to manage it differently so it no longer interferes with your life.

Positive Coping: An HIV+ Support Group
A closed, confidential group for students who are HIV+. The group will address any and all issues related to being HIV+. Objectives of the group are to increase social support, improve self esteem, learn more about HIV and health maintenance, balance health and academic demands, help resolve spiritual/existential conflicts and promote healthy sexuality.

Recovering From Depression
This group will focus on teaching ways to alleviate symptoms associated with depressed mood. These symptoms might include a loss of interest and motivation in doing things, low energy and fatigue, difficulties with concentration, sleep difficulties, and changes in appetite. Group participants will learn strategies to change depressive thought patterns as well as improve functioning and quality of life.
