Initial intake appointments are made by visiting our offices or calling us at
(310) 825-0768 on weekdays any time between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  We are located at John Wooden Center West, with our entrance facing the Intramural Field and Drake Stadium.

Appointments are scheduled within 10 business days.  If no convenient time is available within 10 business days, students are encouraged to utilize CAPS Walk-In Assessment hours each weekday between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Your intake appointment will provide you with an opportunity to speak confidentially with a counselor about your immediate concerns.  By the end of the appointment, your counselor will be able to offer you initial impressions of what resources or services would be most helpful for you.  Some students find that a single session with a counselor is sufficient to resolve immediate concerns.  If further services would be beneficial, these will be discussed and a recommendation will be made by the counselor.  Additional services might include resources offered by CAPS or referral to another campus department or community resource.
