Dr. Babl received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University. He is a generalist, whose treatment approach integrates analytic models with more active, short-term interactive models. He has expertise in sexual identity/LGBT issues, male sexuality (e.g. sexual dysfunction, compulsive sexual behavior), men’s issues (e.g. male role conflicts, men molested as children), HIV spectrum (infected, at risk, sero-discordant couples), and couples therapy. His other clinical interests include bereavement, crystal meth and other substance abuse, and ADHD. He serves as the Chair of Intern Selection and as a clinical supervisor within our APA-accredited Internship Training Program. Dr. Babl directs the department’s Continuing Education Program, which awards State of California MCEP credits to clinical staff and select colleagues on campus. He also serves as department liaison to the Humanities Division of the College of Letters and Sciences, the School of Art and Architecture, the Anderson School of Management and the University Religious Conference.
