Dr. Weinstock completed his psychiatric residency in both adult and adolescent psychiatry at the McLean Hospital at Harvard University. He is board certified in general psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and addiction psychiatry and certified in addiction medicine and adolescent psychiatry. He does psychopharmacological management at UCLA and has special expertise in the assessment and treatment of difficult patients. He has published extensively on ethical dilemmas in psychiatry. Currently he is chair of the Judicial Action Committee of the California Psychiatric Association. He is a recipient of the William Schonfeld award for accomplishments in psychiatry by the American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. In addition to his work at CAPS, Dr. Weinstock works on the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit at the West Los Angeles VA Hospital and is the Director of the UCLA Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program.
