Dr. Rappoport is a licensed clinical psychologist who received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University in the San Francisco Bay area and his bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Pittsburgh. He completed his internship and post-doctoral work at Tarzana Treatment Center, a dual-diagnosis behavioral health hospital concentrating on providing individual and group therapy services to those in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Dr. Rappoport has experience in a variety of other mental health environments including community mental health, partial hospitalization programs, medical detox units, and locked inpatient units. Dr. Rappoport's approach is integrative, primarily combining psychodynamic and CBT-based interventions. Additionally, Dr. Rappoport utilizes strength-based resiliency approaches found in positive psychology, with a deep interest in mindfulness. Dr. Rappoport collaborates with clients to facilitate emotional and mental well-being, balance, growth, and internal stability. Particular interests include working with dual diagnosis, SMI, veteran, young adult, and athlete populations.
