Clinical Experiences/Interests: Dr. Matos is a board-certified couple and family psychologist (American Board of Professional Psychology) specializing in Gottman-Method Couples Therapy. He served 11-years in the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy, becoming a Lieutenant Commander and military psychologist. Dr. Matos has extensive experience using evidence-based treatments to address adjustment challenges and trauma as well as anxiety and mood disorders. Interests include working with first-generation college students, athletes, veterans, and couples.
Approach to Treatment: “I approach therapy in an active and collaborative way to help students clarify their mission and purpose, strengthen psychological and relationship skills, and reach their fullest potential. I encourage a systemic view of growth with a focus on building meaningful relationships and deepening community connections.”
