CAPS at Behavioral Wellness Center (BWC)

CAPS @ BWC is located in CHS 17-253 (near Cafe Med and the School of Medicine).  We are open Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. A map can be found here

The BWC offers confidential consultation and brief therapy to currently enrolled Center for Health Sciences Professional school students (Schools of Nursing, Dental and Public Health).

We know that university life can be demanding.  Balancing academics, work, finances, family, health and social life can be stressful.  All BWC Staff members strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all professional school students.  Our services as designed to help clarify their concerns and work towards the resolution of difficulties they face.   To inquire about services or schedule a screening appointment, please call 310-825-0768.

Clinical Services Offered at CAPS @ BWC:

- Brief triage

- Clinical consultation

- Crisis management services

- Short-term individual psychotherapy

- Referrals to the community for longer term services

- Limited workshops and outreach services

UCLA School of Law

UCLA Law and CAPS are collaborating to increase access to care for law students through an on-site satellite clinic that will be housed in the Office for Student Affairs and Law Library. Services will include scheduled and drop-in brief screen sessions along with limited follow up services in certain instances. Please note that students are not required to have UC SHIP insurance in order to take advantage of these services.

CAPS @ UCLA Law Satellite Clinic Hours: Monday - Wednesday, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Scheduled Brief Screens:
To schedule a brief screen appointment, call CAPS at (310) 825-0768 and indicate you are scheduling for the UCLA Law Satellite Clinic.
You will be asked to complete some pre-session questionnaire in advance of your appointment. You can access these through your patient portal.

Drop-in Brief Screens:
For a drop-in brief screen, check-in at the Law School Library (Room 1222).
You will be asked to complete some pre-session questionnaires prior to meeting with a counselor.

Follow-Up Appointments/Referrals:
At the counselor's discretion, you may be referred for up to two (2) brief follow-up appointments at the satellite clinic, lasting approximately 30 minutes each. Follow-ups are appropriate for students who may benefit from additional support, but do not require an intake appointment or ongoing counseling.
Students who are recommended for counseling will be referred to CAPS or other community providers.

UCLA Anderson School of Management

UCLA Anderson School of Management and CAPS have collaborated to increase access to care for MBA students through an on-site satellite clinic housed in Mullin Management Commons (F203 located in the hallway behind Anderson Cafe). Services include scheduled and drop-in brief sessions along with limited follow up services in certain insurances. Please note that students are not required to have UCSHIP insurance in order to take advantage of these services. 

CAPS @ Anderson Satellite Clinic Hours: Tuesdays - Thursdays, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Scheduled Brief Screens:
To schedule a brief screen appointment, call CAPS at (310) 825-0768 and indicate you are scheduling for the UCLA Anderson Satellite Clinic. You will be asked to complete some pre-session questionnaires in advance of your appointment. You can access these through your patient portal. 

Drop-In Brief Screens:
For a drop-in brief screen, check-in at F203 during satellite hours. You will be asked to complete some pre-session questionnaires prior to meeting with the Triage Clinician.

UCLA School of Engineering

We have space in the school of Engineering Boelter Hall Conference 6288-G, and are available Wednesday 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and Thursday 2:00 - 4:00 pm weeks 5 - 10.

CAPS offer very limited drop in appointment available in both SAC and Kerckhoff. 

- LGBT CRC (SAC B36) - Tuesdays & Thursdays 1:00 - 3:00 pm

- Transfer Student Center (Kerckhoff Hall 128) - Wednesdays 3:00 - 5:00 pm 

- Undocumented Students Program (B52 in the Bruin Resource Center) - Tuesdays 12:00 - 4:00 pm

- Veteran Resource Center (Kerckhoff Hall 132) - Tuesdays 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
